My heart is devastatingly shattered

A zillion pieces, vastly scattered

​

Fragments of pain, bitterness, rejection, anger, sorrow, all intermixed

Broken and hopeless, I can’t be fixed

​

Life is a whirlwind of turmoil for countless moons now

I’ll spare you the details, when and how

​

I’m done, I give up, crying out in exhaustion and despair

Jesus, if you're in this, I don’t see where

 

He replied, you perceive I do not care

When you are in despair

​

You believe I don’t hear your despondency

When you are suffering in misery

​

You think I abandon you

But that’s not true 

​

People are not puppets I manipulate

Instead, I declare truth for them to contemplate

​

Their hurtful interactions toward you are their choice

They deliberately ignore my voice

​

Release the pain, rejection, anger, sorrow, and bitterness

Give me the whirlwind, turmoil, and brokenness 

​

I heeded his request, surrendering completely

God's love, comfort, and peace filled me instantly

​

God breathed life into what seemed hopelessly unrepairable

He infused wholeness, an amazing miracle

​

When I grew disheartened with God and my faith became tattered

He applied life-changing grace, no longer shattered and scattered

Prayer

James 5:16 (NLT), "... The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.​"

Lord, I release to you the devastation which shattered my heart and the resulting shock, trauma, fear and relentless pain. Only you know where all the fragmentation occurred and what to do with the broken pieces. I give you the cried and buried tears. I forgive each person involved. 

​

I've tried to medicate something which can’t be medicated, the pain, sorrow and ripple effects of past events. Forgive me for attempting to escape the torment through addictive behaviors and substances, rather than seeking you.

 

I acknowledge you are the one and only Comforter. Do what only you can do. Apply your truth, compassion, kindness, and love to my body, mind, and soul. Bring godly order to what was torment and turmoil. Breathe life into what seemed hopelessly unrepairable. Make me a testimony of wholeness, your miracle. Amen.
