Helping People Encounter God's Kindness
Resurface Your Purpose
God's Kindness Quest Series
Asked God, what is my purpose on this earth
He replied, it’s a journey starting at birth
Asked God, can you be more specific
He asked me to follow his directions, like a GPS in traffic
Asked God, how do I live with great joy and laughter
He asked me to love people 24/7, not just in front of my pastor
Asked God, how do I become a good parent
He asked me to help a relative who is an irritant
Asked God, how shall I venture through today
He asked me to trust him to guide the way
Asked God, how do I grow to know him better
He asked me to pour out my heart to him in a letter
Asked God, how do I achieve the ultimate marriage
He asked me to love, honor, and encourage
Asked God, how do I fulfill my role and become a success
He asked, how often will I obey him and say yes
Jesus only did what his Heavenly Father said to do
His destiny and relevance unfolded as he followed each cue
God’s purpose for me is being unveiled over a lifetime
As I pursue what he asks, one yes at a time

Prayer
James 5:16 (NLT), "... The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
Lord, family and societal traditions; my need for approval from others; lack of self-confidence; immaturity; selfish ambition; pride; rebellion; procrastination; and the identified hindrances listed above have detoured me from your best. I've tried my way and everyone else's agenda. I forgive others for attempting to mold and shape me into their perceived destiny for me. Forgive me for leaning on my understanding and self-effort. It's left me tired, frustrated, and unfulfilled.
My uniqueness got buried under an avalanche of worldly distortions. Forgive me for comparing myself to others and not embracing the distinctiveness you created within me.
Forgive me for not fully surrendering to your will. I have feared what you might ask of me. Today, I stop running. Help me follow your narrow path, at your pace. I attune my ears and heart to you. Empower me to fulfill your plans and purposes. Amen.

If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,' says the LORD. 'I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.'"
