Helping People Encounter God's Kindness
Reflections of the Forgiven
God's Kindness Quest Series
Contemplating life while sitting by a babbling brook
Into my past I dare not look
Fearful of what I might find
Abundant sin comes to mind
Then I hear a tranquil voice say
Would you like freedom today
With a shaky foot, I step forward to see
What is Holy Spirit speaking to me
If you will acknowledge your sin
I'll help you release the pain deep within
Frame by frame, God displays events of the past
The magnitude of sin I finally grasp
Help me God; how do I get rid of this
Father God gently blows me a kiss
God’s love overwhelms me; I cannot speak
Healing tears flow down my cheek
I repent, letting the record of wrongs go
Father God declares, I forgive you my child, let it be so
Forever changed by his tenderness and holy touch
I’m forgiven for much
Words cannot explain
The level of peace and joy I now contain
A brand new mindset and heart I’ve been given
These are the reflections of the forgiven

Prayer
James 5:16 (NLT), "... The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
Lord, thank you for helping me to grasp the magnitude of my sin. Today, I stop sugar-coating and justifying sin. Thank you for helping me to get past fear and reluctance to confess what you already knew I struggled with. I ask for your forgiveness and choose to forgive myself.
Cancel any negative sowing and reaping set in motion by my sinful actions. Cleanse me and others of the repercussions of my ungodly behavior. I give you old habit patterns and ways of thinking which perpetuate sin.
Thank you for your mercy, grace, forgiveness, and for helping me to forgive myself. Fill me with the hope and joy, which comes from receiving lasting freedom. Ignite a fire in me for holiness and a passion for godly living. I approach you, no longer in shame or fear, but expectant and excited to spend time together. Amen.
