Helping People Encounter God's Kindness
Outcast is My Name
God's Kindness Quest Series
Outcast is my name
Every day the branding is the same
Unsure when the name got started
Perhaps in the womb, before I departed
Repeatedly labeled with the name
They’re always convinced I’m to blame
I’m unacceptable is the message they send
Hopelessly a loner, without a friend
Heard the name Outcast so often I believe it’s true
Living in isolation, I’ve learned to do
They assigned me additional names, idiot and loser
Trying to escape the shame, I became a boozer
You'll never change, disparagingly I'm told
Nor do I fit the family mold
Occasionally, I am tolerated
Never remember being celebrated
Shunned by family and friends, the wounds cut deep
Relentless rejection torments, while awake or asleep
Everyone banished me long ago
Frigid out here amidst this snow
Sat on church steps to rest a while
God manifested with a glowing smile
God, why do you grin while I’m suffering in pain
Because, My Precious Child is your name
Let me cleanse you of rejection on earth
Do you know I loved you even before birth
Time to learn who you truly are
I created you, surpassing the most magnificent star
Let’s walk together daily so you can be free
You are my child; stay close to me
Accepted his offer and the old labels faded away
My Precious Child is the name which will stay

Prayer
James 5:16 (NLT), "... The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
Lord, I give you every ungodly branding and labeling given me by this world, forgiving them. Forgive me for allowing those things to take root in my heart, which caused pain, rejection, low self-esteem, loneliness, and unrest.
Lord, forgive me for times I have labeled or spoken derogatorily toward others. Wash them off from that defilement and emotional pain. Help me honor and lift others up to their full potential, not tear them down.
Unbind me from all connections related to ungodly branding and labeling. Cancel all negative sowing and reaping.
I receive your name for me and accept your truth. Teach me how to live as a child in your Kingdom. Help me understand my true identity and teach me to walk in the fullness of it. Amen.
