Be True to Your Shoe

God's Kindness Quest Series

In baseball, everyone can't be the pitcher

Players' positions are assigned by the manager

It’s the same spiritually; everybody can’t be the pastor

We each have unique gifting, determined by our Creator

Jesus did what his Father said to do

He didn’t try to wear someone else’s shoe

Your shoe may be to usher in godly comfort at a local coffee shop

Engaging somebody who needed to know God cared enough to stop

Your shoe may be to echo God’s love amidst a heated debate

Calming a volatile display of rage and hate

Your shoe may be to choose education as a vocation

Imparting the Father’s wisdom and love through classroom interaction

Your shoe may be to model and restore integrity to government

Passing legislation, while honoring God’s covenant

Your shoe may be to run a thriving godly business

Showing how a Christian’s prosperity can be a tremendous witness

Your shoe may be to co-labor with God, cleaning atmospheres of sin

Praying the Lord’s presence and holiness in

Father God’s unique shoes for you are unlike any other

Don’t compare them to the shoes of another

Have peace, joy, and passion for what God designed you to do

Be true to wearing his customized shoe for you

Prayer

James 5:16 (NLT), "... The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

Lord, I repent of comparing myself to others and trying to become someone you didn’t design me to be. I repent of jealousy and judging the value of anyone's position, including my own. Forgive me for chasing after money, pridefully seeking prestige, and not trusting you to guide me. I forgive those who convinced me to wear generational shoes. Today, I surrender my current footwear collection to you.

Lord, show me the importance of the Kingdom position assigned to me. I accept your custom-made shoes. Unlike earthly shoes, the shoes you have given me never wear out and perfectly adjust during growth spurts.

Help me walk in the fullness of who you created me to be. With a teachable heart, I step forward into my Kingdom positioning, gifting, and anointing. Amen.

Scripture

2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT), "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true ..."

Psalm 139:1-16 (NLT)

"O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed."
