Arise Before Sunrise

God's Kindness Quest Series

Feel a nudge in my spirit to get out of bed

Glancing at the clock, didn’t like the time it read

Even the roosters are still asleep

It’s God’s favorite hour to take me deep

Spiritually I awaken; however, my body needs coffee

Before engaging in things so lofty

Sitting by the window, steaming beverage in hand

Pondering, will the sunrise be bland or grand

By the second cup of java

The horizon glows like flaming lava

With each passing minute, the darkness is lifting

Holy Spirit whispers, I want to talk about your gifting

I’ve given you the gift to see things in the spirit

Be my mouthpiece for those with ears to hear it

Like the sunrise, which overtakes the darkness

Impart my light for them to witness

I inquire, how will I know when and where to go

Stay connected to me, and the anointing will flow

Are you sure, Lord, for I am an ordinary guy

I created you to shine like this morning's fiery sky

Starting today

Speak life and truth, in a loving way

Walk in humbleness

No room in my light for pridefulness

You’ll see people like you’ve never seen them before

Be obedient to my instruction and I’ll send you more

Connect them to me and I'll display Divine glory

Creating another testimony of Father God’s love story

Scripture

2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT), "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true ..."

1 John 1:5-7 (NLT)

"This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin."

2 Peter 1:3-4 (NLT)

"By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires."

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 (NLT)

"A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have."
