Where Are You God

God's Kindness Quest Series

Father God, where are you when I am engulfed in loneliness

I read you are a Father to the fatherless

Jesus, where are you when I reach out for a godsend

Christians say you are my friend

Holy Spirit, where are you when I consider myself a loser

I'm told you are my comforter

God, help me understand where you’ve been

When I am bombarded by invitations to sin

I hear you have dominant power and might

Yet, I feel alone day and night

Maybe you're not the deity everyone claims you to be

Why do you hide yourself from me

God responded, the enemy fills your head with doubt and lies

I gaze upon you with compassionate eyes

You are my child

I weep when you believe you are exiled

Father God’s tears fell upon my heart and mind

Each drop overflowing with soothing love, unlike any other kind

The depth of God’s tenderness, incredible

He is no longer distant in heaven, he’s unexpectedly huggable

As for my questions, I no longer need answers

In Abba Father’s loving embrace, nothing else matters

Prayer

James 5:16 (NLT),  "... The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

Lord, I give you anger, frustration, and disappointment about situations in which I thought you abandoned me. Forgive me for the emotions I have harbored in my heart, blaming you for not preventing or solving challenges the way I wanted. Forgive me for the arrogance of my demand for answers from you. Forgive me for judging you to be an absentee God. Thank you for showing me you were there, even when I didn't realize it.

Lord, you promise in 1 Corinthians 13, “LOVE NEVER FAILS”. I ask you to apply your truth and love to my questions, to every way I’ve judged you, to every nook and cranny of my shattered heart, to every moment of broken trust, and to every way I’ve distanced myself from you. The feelings of rejection run deep and I ask you to uproot them now, replacing them with your love. Forgive me for trying to live as a child in your Kingdom, while applying worldly ways.

Holy Spirit, quicken me to hear and receive your truth. Minister to me regarding everything I lay before you today. Help me to personally fellowship with you daily, surrendered, teachable, with my heart wide open to you. May I hear your whispers, even as I slumber. Amen.
